What is your favorite memory of your own mom?

I am not a mom, but I do recall magical times spent with my grandmother and aunt – both of whom were mom-like figures in my life. One of my favorite memories was with my grandmother. We sat on the edge of her bed while she brushed my hair and we just talked. It was a liberating moment for me.

What is your favorite design from your shop?

My shop recently opened, and I have yet to make a sale, but my favorite item in the shop is a square apricot and lavender silk scarf. I love the color pattern and apricot is such a bold color against lavender.

Are you a mom?
Not yet, except to my fur-baby, an adopted black lab mix dog.

what is your favorite memory of your own mom? 
I can't choose just one favorite memory of my mom - my mom is a huge part of who I am and many of my memories and present life is touched by her. My mom is the most caring and strong woman I know and I am grateful everyday that she is my mom!

What is your best selling item?
My best selling items are vintage. However, I also sell jewelry/craft supplies and handmade jewelry.

What is your favorite design from your shop?
My favorite "design" from my shop is my handmade jewelry. My jewelry has a very eclectic style (there's something for everyone). It is made with high quality, interesting, and sometimes vintage beads and components from my travels, and made with lots of inspiration, love and care!  If you were to receive a bouquet...what type of flowers must be included?
If I could choose any bouquet of flowers I would choose wildflowers!

What would be your perfect Mother’s Day gift?
My best mother's day gift? To spend the whole day with my doggie!

What is your favorite memory of your own mom?
My favorite memory of my mom is of her typing. When I was very young, my mom would supplement her income by typing dissertations at night after working all day as a secretary. She types so fast (120 words a minute!) that her typing has a distinct rhythm to it. I would fall asleep every night to the sound of this rhythm. On nights that she wasn’t typing I couldn’t fall asleep and would ask her, “will you please go type something?”

What is your best selling item?
Right now my best items are custom made table runners and custom made skirts. The custom skirts are made to fit each customer’s individual body measurements, and are made of their choice of fabric and embellishment style.

The table runners are also made according to the customer’s choice of fabric and dimensions.

Tulips and lily of the valley. And that would be it.

What would be your perfect Mother’s Day gift?
I don’t have any children, but I did recently have neighbors with grandchildren. One of those kids was very special to me and we spent a lot of time together making crafts, cooking, playing games and generally acting silly. One day he said to me, “Miss Nan, you’re the best friend I ever had.” That, to me, was the perfect gift.

Are you a mom? If so, what is your favorite “mom” memory?
I am a mom! My favorite memory is the annual Halloween Party my daughter and I hosted at our house. We had scavenger hunts with teams of ghosts, pumpkins and bats, we pinned the band-aid on the witches wart and then each child got a pumpkin and we painted them at the end of the party. My daughter would help me with the limericks and placing the treasures all over the property, It is one of her best memories too!


What is your best selling item?
My best seller is my cross body messenger bag.

What is your favorite design from your shop?
I love all my bags, they are my "babies", but my #1 is my cross body ostrich embossed bag.

Are you a mom? If so, what is your favorite “mom” memory?
Yes, I am a mom!  My favourite mom memory is when we once had had a lot of rain in England where we were living at the time.  the boys were bored, so I came up with idea that we could paint the outside of the house with mud!  We dressed in our wellies and Macintoshes and the boys and I had a great time. Hubby was not impressed.

my favourite Item from my shop is the painting "Tapestry".  The image had been on my mind for ages, and was something I wanted to paint.

Oh! one of my favourite flowers are tulips - love their big heads and rich colours.

Words of wisdom... no idea because, honestly, what do I know!  I just muddled through and hoped for the best. LOVE no matter what - just love them and play when they are little and still want to.

When my son was very little and it was time to get ready for bed, after story time every night it was a tradition that we always asked each other. What was the worst part of the day and what was the favorite part of the day. It was such a beautiful way to end the day. It gave both of us a chance to talk about something that upset us and also a chance to celebrate the little fun things that we often take for granted. I learned so much about my son and his good nature by asking these 2 simple questions and he in return got to ask me too.

Are you a mom? If so, what is your favorite "mom" memory?

Not in the traditional sense, but I am a "mom" to two kitties and a chinchilla.

If you aren’t, what is your favorite memory of your own mom?

My own mom passed away when I was 11, so I always make an effort to remember her and what a wonderful woman she was, though my memories are limited. It’s not a specific memory, but my favorite thing to remember about my mom is that she was such a strong and exemplary woman who did wonderful things for the people around her. She was a teacher, and she started a program for young girls in her district who would have otherwise dropped out of high school due to their pregnancies. She fought hard for her girls, to make sure they got the education they needed to make sure their lives and their children’s lives would be better. Her girls were fiercely loyal to her – they looked up to her and stayed in contact with her long after they had their children and finished high school. In my adult life, I can only hope that I live up to the wonderful example that my mom set for me. When I remember my mom, I am so proud to be her daughter, and I can only hope that many other daughters feel the same way and appreciate their moms just as much as I appreciate mine.

What is your best selling item?

My best selling item is my custom couples’ card – I’ve loved making these for so many happy couples!

What is your favorite design from your shop?

My favorite design may not be a surprise – it’s my sleeping fox, which was one of my earliest designs and the inspiration for my shop name.

If you were to receive a bouquet...what type of flowers must be included?

Given that I am a "mom" to two cats, I have to keep in mind that a lot of common flowers are poisonous to my kitties. Thus, I’d have to go with the traditional an lovely (de-thorned) roses.

What would be your perfect Mother’s Day gift?

I think breakfast in bed and a day of being waited on hand and foot is the best gift for any mom!

Any words of wisdom for the other moms out there?

Love your family and the people around you, fight hard for what you know is right, and set a wonderful example for your kids to follow!
